LYONBIOPOLE

LYONBIOPOLE : A French BIO Cluster with an industriel leadership

Lyonbiopole is a world competitive cluster focused on human/animal infectious diseases and on immune disorders in pathologies like viro-induced cancers. It draws strength from the vitality of the Lyon/Grenoble area in this field, and efficient synergies in industrial biology, structural biology and micro/nanotechnologies. Designed as a “factory” for multi-partner R&D projects, Lyonbiopole has the ambition to boost innovation supporting the competitiveness of firms and the local region. To reach this objective, Lyonbiopole helps companies: – To identify partners for collaborative R&D projects, that could be hosted in our own Center for Infectious Diseases – To gain access to Public Funding – To develop their activity (internationalization; Business Development, access to VCs, etc.). In 2009, the Center for Infectious Diseases opened in the heart of the Charles Merieux bio Campus in Lyon Gerland. Focal point of Lyonbiopole, it will be a center of excellence for education, epidemiology, academic and private research in infectiology.
