French Political Leader Visits Sanford-Burnham

Gérard Collomb, Senator and Mayor of the city of Lyon in France, along with other representatives of Lyon and some of their business collaborators, paid a visit to the Institute’s La Jolla campus yesterday, where they met with Dr. Paul Laikind, Sanford-Burnham’s chief business officer.

In France, Mr. Collomb’s policies are driven by his focus on economic development and urban renewal. By visiting San Diego, Mr. Collomb and his collaborators hope to find new ways for the area’s researchers to partner with French businesses and institutions. At Sanford-Burnham, he learned about the Institute’s research focus, drug development program and entrepreneurial interests.
