Sanofi buys into Indian biotech

 Sanofi-Aventis, France’s largest drugmaker, has made its first direct investment in the Indian biotech sector with the acquisition of a 78 per cent stake in Shantha Biotechnics, an Indian vaccine maker, for €429m ($613m).
