Join a unique R&D networking opportunity at a main French during BIO 2008

San Diego – June 16, 2008 – As part of BIO 2008, the French Bio Clusters, lead by Lyonbiopôle, one of France’s 7 world-class Clusters, in collaboration with , organize for the second time a one day seminar called “Fast-Track R&D Partnering with France”. This is supported by the French Ministry of the Economy, Industry and Employment and sanofi-aventis. Philippe Archinard, CEO of Transgene and President of Lyonbiopole, and Alain Griot, Head of International Affairs at the General Directorate for Enterprises in the Ministry of Industry, will welcome more than 100 expected international companies. The will be open by Marc de Garidel, VP South Region International Commercial Operations AMGEN and will feature, among others, Claude Benchimol, Senior VP Research & Development INVITROGEN Corporation and Alan Carter, Senior VP, Business Development, CODA Genomics.

This one day seminar is dedicated to offer a real opportunity to network with more than 100 expected French and International biotech companies and to learn more how relevant it is on gathering partnerships and building a bioCluster Critical Mass.

The program includes the following interactive presentations, discussions, networking and Q&A sessions:

  • Opening by Marc de Garidel, VP Amgen, arguing about the key success factors for biotechnology and a key player like Amgen to develop in France
  • Seven R&D mutipartenarial projects, fostered by the French Bio Clusters and presented by the top management of the following French and American companies, PhenoPro SAS, Taconic Farms, Vivalis, Pharmaxon, InvivoGen Therapeutics, Innate Pharma, Fluigent and Genfit.
  • After an introduction by Stephane Richard, founder of French BIO Beach, two testimonies of American companies from San Diego, Invitrogen Corporation and Coda Genomics, supporting French BIO Beach
  • Closing by Luc Aujame, Director, External R&D of sanofi pasteur about How does a global pharmaceutical industry develop its partnerships with France ?

A speedy networking and meeting corner is available, to meet potential partners and exchange with major biotech business actors.

Sanofi-aventis is supporting this and Patrick Tricoli, company’s Senior Director Partnering & Innovation, is the moderator.
